Raising funds for this event and walking/running as part of a team is a great way to build camaraderie in the workplace or spend quality time with family and friends. It’s also a great way to join together to raise money for this event.
Every team needs a Team Captain. Then, set a fundraising goal and encourage one another to collect donations (no amount is too small!). Start a fundraising team or create your own fundraising page to collect donations and pledges. Click here and just follow the instructions! Don’t have a team? Join an existing team and bolster them toward their fundraising goal. See team pages here.
After the race, enjoy the vendor fair and Foodie Event. We’ll have tasty treats for you and your humans. Vendors include pet product and service companies, local businesses, and other non-profit organizations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I don't have a dog. Can I still participate?
A: Everybody is welcome to participate in the Dog Days of Summer 5K!
Q: I have a puppy that is not quite 6 months old and would like to bring him to the race. Would this be okay?
A: For their own safety, we will not be able to allow puppies under 6 months of age. This rule is has your puppy's best interest and health in mind.
Q: Will there be shelter or rescue dogs at the race available for adoption?
A: Yes! Some shelter and rescue dogs will be at the race. To see all the dogs available for adoption, stop by their table.
Q: I have an animal (other than a dog) that I would like to bring. Would this be okay?
A: We discourage bringing animals other than well-behaved dogs to the Dog Days of Summer 5K. We cannot assume that all dogs at the race will respond well to other animals.
Q: Do I need to register my child separately?
A: Children under 6 can participate for free. Children 6 and older will need to register and will receive a cotton tee. This is a fundraiser! We hope that you will think of the registration fee as part of donating to a good cause.
Q: How do I get to the race?
A: From Loop 1604/IH10, proceed outside the loop on IH10West. Exit Camp Bullis, take the turnaround, pass Oak Hills Church and the big hill. Pass up the 1st entrance; turn Right into the 2nd entrance. Take an immediate Right and immediate Left into the parking garage. We will be at the fountain by the hotel.
